Your number and calls

How the Australian mobile number, forwarding and voicemail work together.

What phone number do I receive?

You receive a new, dedicated Australian mobile number, generally beginning with 04 and subject to availability. Customers can call or text it like a normal mobile number. PingMate does not currently port your existing number.

Do calls still ring my existing mobile?

Yes. When call forwarding is enabled, calls to your PingMate number ring the mobile number you choose. You can set how long it rings. If you do not answer, the call continues to your PingMate voicemail.

What happens when I cannot answer a call?

PingMate plays your voicemail greeting and records the caller. When they leave a message, PingMate transcribes it and sends a summary to your mobile. You can also choose whether PingMate texts the caller automatically.

Can PingMate text someone who hangs up without leaving a voicemail?

Yes, if you enable missed-call text-back and save a message for that situation. It works for eligible Australian mobile callers and includes a cooldown to avoid repeatedly texting the same number. With no voicemail content to interpret, this reply uses your saved message rather than AI.

What changes outside my business hours?

You can set weekly opening hours, your timezone and a separate after-hours voicemail greeting. Outside your opening hours, calls skip your mobile and go straight to voicemail, using your after-hours greeting if you have set one. You can also pause the text alerts sent to your own mobile while you are closed and get one roundup text when you next open. Automatic replies to customers keep running at all hours.

Can I use my own welcome and voicemail messages?

Yes. You can upload a welcome message that plays before the call rings, plus your own normal and after-hours voicemail greetings. Greetings can use uploaded audio or text that PingMate reads to the caller.

Replies and messages

Choose what PingMate sends automatically and what waits for you.

What is the difference between saved replies and AI replies?

Saved replies send the exact wording you write. You can keep one saved reply for direct texts and another for missed calls. AI replies use the customer message and your business settings to prepare a more specific response. You can switch automatic sending off when you want to review and reply yourself.

What happens when a customer texts my PingMate number?

The message appears in your web inbox. Depending on your settings, PingMate can reply with your saved message or prepare an AI response. If automatic sending is off, it waits for you. During an active conversation, new customer texts stay in the inbox instead of triggering another automatic reply.

Can customer texts be forwarded to my phone?

Yes. You can receive an SMS alert on your mobile with the customer number and message. If you reply directly from your phone, the reply comes from your personal number. Reply through the PingMate web inbox when you want it to come from your business number. To keep evenings and days off quiet, you can pause alerts outside your opening hours and get one roundup text when you open instead.

Can I text customers myself?

Yes. Reply in any conversation in your PingMate dashboard, or start a new message to an Australian mobile, and it is sent from your business number. You can also text a caller straight from the Missed Calls page, and review or edit a prepared response before sending it. Each text you send uses one message credit. Only text people who have contacted you or agreed to hear from you.

Can AI replies include a price estimate?

They can include a rough estimate using the business details and rates in your settings. An estimate is not a confirmed quote or booking. Review your pricing settings carefully before allowing those replies to send automatically.

Plan and setup

Straight answers about price, message credits, cancellation and access.

How much does PingMate cost?

PingMate costs $39.90 per month. The plan includes your dedicated Australian mobile number and 100 message credits each month. Additional message credits cost 5c each.

What uses a message credit?

A credit is used when PingMate sends a customer reply, sends a missed-call text-back, or sends a voicemail summary to your mobile. A voicemail can use two credits when PingMate sends both your summary and a reply to the caller. Receiving a call or text does not use a credit. Your first 100 credits are included each month, then each additional credit costs 5c.

Can I cancel, and is there a money-back guarantee?

You can cancel from your account without a long-term contract. Your service remains available until the end of the current billing period. If PingMate is not right for your business, ask us within 30 days of your first payment and we will refund that first payment.

Do I need to install a mobile app?

No. PingMate runs in your web browser, including on your phone. Calls forward to the mobile you already use, and optional summaries or message alerts arrive by SMS.

Can I port my number or make outbound calls through PingMate?

Not currently. PingMate provides a new business mobile number for incoming calls and texts. Number porting and outbound calling are not part of the current service.
